About the Show
A promenade performance of the abridged version of Edith in the Dark by Philip Meeks at The Regency House
Children’s author E Nesbit, bored of her husband’s Christmas party, retreats to her basement with her faithful housekeeper and a handsome party guest. As the night draws on Edith reads some of her work, not from her cherished children’s stories but her early terrifying horror tales. As the stories unfold it becomes clear that the darkness is not only in the writing.
A haunting glimpse into the disturbing dark and supernatural imaginings of a beloved children’s writer.
Please note that this is a site specific promenade performance which will require you to stand to watch the performance. The play will last for approximately an hour and will involve moving around several rooms. The venue can only be accessed by going down a step flight of stairs.
