About the Play
How far would you go to keep your job?
An employee finds her sex life is a matter for the HR department. Emma has met Darren, she thinks she’s in love. Her manager thinks she’s in breach of contract. This needs to be resolved.
Beginning as a radio play, this 2-hander, all female gem by Mike Bartlett transfers effortlessly although uncomfortably for it’s audience, to the stage. Appearing initially as a considerate “we have a duty of care” manager, we see the extent to which the company are willing to go, to maintain their corporate stance on inter-office relationships. And, whether the employee is willing to endure and comply with such demands. With just two women delivering this piece in under an hour it’s a staff meeting you won’t want to miss.
Please note the play makes reference to child death, pregnancy and verbal abuse.
BLT actively encourages auditionees from ethnic minority communities and any of the below parts could be played by any race.
You do not have to be a member of the company to audition, but if you are cast you must join.
